Hi there,

I haven't been around for a while, so I thought I would come back with some important information.

I know there are some great authors out there doing amazing writing, but sometimes it is possible to inadvertently stray into the realms of plagiarism. So you really want to write a tribute story to the work of another writer, then it is imperative to get the approval of that writer first. Most writers are more than happy for this to happen, some are very flattered. Also it is important to give credit to the original author. If not this can often be construed as a form of stealing ideas.

I may note you if anything in this category turns up, but don't take it as a slight. Contact the original author via dA. It can be quite traumatic when an author discovers someone using their OC characters and ideas without permission as they have put a lot of time and energy into creating these. They own their creations and should be respected for this.

Remember, be polite and thoughtful to others and writing can be a beautiful creative form. Anyone abusing this and stealing without thought will not be tolerated in this group.

I agree, before I use someone OC I ask first and then I credit them.
Sadly exists several people who stole stories or art...
